Our first post at stuffscenekidslike.com had to consist of someone or something that not only is a household name, but we felt it necessary to start with the roots of the scene culture…

#1 on our list is Mr. Pete Wentz. In case you live under a rock, Pete Wentz is the bassist of Fall Out Boy and the Paris Hilton of “the scene”. Pete has that magical aura about him that makes you want to love him and his tight pantsed, guylined, swoopyhaired persona, but at the same time gives you a deep urge to punch him in the face for writing mediocre lyrics and packaging them in overpriced tours with Blink-182 ripoff bands (see the Believers Never Die Tour Part Deux). That and he’s married to Ashlee Simpson.

 

Wentz basically defines “scene” through his multiple media outlets. Wentz’s stronghold on music comes from owning his own uberhip Fueled By Ramen/Atlantic Records subsidiary label, Decaydance. He’s signed Panic at the Disco, Gym Class Heroes, The Hush Sound, and newest to the family, Hey Monday. With the help of his buddies at Crush Management, FBR, MTV, and pretty much anything you could consider remotely hip, Wentz is able to propagate absolutely anything he likes into ultimate popularity.
