Jeffree Star is the ultimate scene queen. He’s better at makeup than you, better at dying his hair than you, has way more tattoos, nicer legs, and occasionally, he’ll offer you advice on how to deal with your sexual identity crisis. No matter how much you hate him, part of you and your scene little self wishes you were him.

Jeffree Star’s claim to fame lies on his music the crazy drama he starts on his Myspace blog, and his double life as a celebrity makeup artist.  Rising from the dust of the beginning of social networking sites, as CUNT, Jeffree Star hopped on to Myspace to spread his word as the controversial “Queen of the Beautifuls”.

With posts angrily ranting about today’s issues in the scene, at the makeup counter and  gay rights, Jeffree Star is met with negative attention from his numerous haters (whom he loves to address) and love from his cultish followers. Thanks to capital letters and the< b > bold tag, Jeffree Star has since built his persona as the pink haired, crossdressing, MAC-loving queen bitch of the internet.  Jeffree Star is a raging bitch, but at least he’s badass about it.
Despite the fact that everyone’s scenester heroes have been hated on (from Obama to Trace Cyrus) by Jeffree Star, all the scene kids still love him. Scenesters everywhere claim to hate Star, and will openly start hateful threads on the Absolutepunk.net messageboards, yet his cult-like following grows with every word he types and every photoshoot he takes.
With a clothing line at scenester central, Hot Topic, and his own dance-core release, the Plastic Surgery Slumber Party EP (and the Cupcakes Taste Like Violence EP…my bad, I’m not caught up on my scenester celeb releases) on his own scenetastic label,Popsicle Records,  Jeffree Star has the scene wrapped around him like his extension cord around his bejeweled blow dryer.
Scene kids will tell you all about how much they loathe J.Star, but the attention he gives his haters makes them feel like maybe one day they too could be a Myspace celebrity….if only.
