Why wear your heart on your sleeves, when you can you can just wear it on your chest? That is the logic behind scene kids and their chest pieces. Chest pieces are tattoos that are sprawled across a scene kid’s chest. They range from graphics of symbolic things, to words, to phrases.

Like i said in the previous post, scene kids are always complaining about being labeled. “BUT IM NOT REALLY SCENE”, “DONT LABEL ME, IM UNIQUE,” et cetera, are the worlds always pouring out of scenesters mouths. Yet, they are the first ones to rush to get words tattooed across their chest.

Does anyone else see the great hypocrisy? Especially when the words they use to define (not label, heaven forbid!) themselves doesn’t go along with their actions. The scene boy you know, who has “Accept Love” on his chest may outwardly slander the GLBT community, and the scene girl you know with “Truth” scribbled underneath her collar probably lies about her age, having a chestpiece only to appear older and moreXhardXcoreX.

When all you scene girls get old, and your tits start to sag, that great big The Recieving End of Sirens lyric, “I fall into rhythm, my life is a rhythm” will also start to sag, and fall (maybe not so rhythmically), looking more like a roller coaster tattooed across your chest than a lyrical necklace.

Scene kids of the world, I understand everyone has their epiphianies and motivational phrases, but really, is it necessary to take your favorite adjective or lyric and have it inked into your chest like a sign around your neck, letting people read you?…literally….
